About the event

Folk and Social Dances (235): Sundays from 6:15 to 7:15 PM, 7 weeks (March 17, 24, April 7, 14, 21, 28 and May 5: NO CLASSES ON 3/31 DUE TO EASTER); $87/session, $15/single plus PayPal fee when registering online

Over the course of seven weeks, add depth to your understanding of the social, folk, and folkloric dances that have influenced belly dance. Learn regional patterns of dance, practice the repertoire of the National Folkloric Troupes in Egypt, dive into cultural and historical influences in dance, and put everything in the context of how these elements have impacted belly dance as we currently practice it.

This class is open to any Level 2 dancers who have completed at least one series of 211, 212, or 213. Intro to Folk Dance (134) is required for any other participants. Please ask Rahil if you have placement questions. This class is highly recommended for Level 3 Dancers who are interested in attending any of the folkloric dance classes at an advanced level (331, 334, etc.).
