Pathways for Progress

Rahil's Performance Mentoring Program

Please read the information below carefully prior to registration, even if you have participated in the program in the past.

Applications and registration will open on September 1st.

Any dancers who have participated for the past two consecutive years in the private training will not be accepted for another year of private training and are encouraged to apply for the Choreography Creation pathway. This is to give other dancers the opportunity, and to push you out of your comfort zone.

Pathway One: Private Intensive Training

  • In this pathway, you'll meet with Rahil twice a month in private Zoom lessons. This program is available on Zoom ONLY. For the first half of the program, these lessons will focus on improving technique and targeting skills to take your dancing to the next level. You'll work towards goals, get feedback on your skills, and make a plan to continue your growth as a dancer. For the second half of the program, you'll continue to work on technique and skills, but the focus will shift to learning a customized choreography meant to challenge you and fulfill your interests. You'll have the opportunity to perform this choreography at a local event based on Rahil's recommendation.

  • Cost is $150 to secure your spot (which covers the first and last month's lessons). You will be automatically billed $75/month via Paypal on the first of each following month until the completion of the program. Please note that there will be limited opportunities to reschedule lessons and that the monthly fee will be collected regardless of missed lessons. The monthly charge can be stopped at any time should you need to forfeit your spot in the program.

  • In order to participate in this pathway, you will need to fill out an application as spaces are VERY LIMITED. Applications will be available on September 1st and filling out the application is NOT a guarantee of a space in the program. Please note that all participants will be asked to send recordings of their practices for feedback, which is essential to your success in this program!

Pathway Two: Choreography Creation Mentoring

  • In this pathway, you and the rest of your small mentoring group will meet once a month to work on essential skills for writing your own choreography. You'll learn elements of musicality, how to write and use combinations, and you'll have deadlines to ensure that you stay on track. Most importantly, you'll receive feedback along the way to help you develop a choreography that you're proud to perform at any event! This program runs from January through June, after which you may want to sign up for a Performance Lab to hone your piece prior to your show.

  • While meetings can be offered on Zoom, participants will get the most from this program if they can attend in person. All participants will be asked to send videos of their choreography progress on specific sections of their song in order to receive feedback. These videos will be due two weeks prior to each meeting so participants can address feedback and come to the meeting with questions and concerns.

  • Participants are highly encouraged to sign up for Musicality and Song Mapping Workshops that will be offered in late 2026. These workshops will facilitate your understanding of your music so you are more successful with writing your piece.

  • Cost is $70 to secure your spot (which covers your January and June lessons). You will be automatically billed $35/month via Paypal on the first of each following month until the completion of the program. Please note that our meetings can be recorded on Zoom if you need to miss a lesson. Please contact Rahil in that event. The monthly charge can be stopped at any time should you need to forfeit your spot in the program.

  • Spaces will be limited in this program. Participants in this program are first-come, first-served, UPON SENDING YOUR SONG SELECTION TO RAHIL. You will receive a google form via email with some questions and a place to upload your music. You will need a song prior to the first meeting of the program, which should be approved by Rahil in advance (this is to your benefit to ensure you aren't picking something that will cause you issues).
