Musicality Workshop

Musicality is the most important tool in the hipbelt of a raqs sharqi performer. More than just learning technique and movements, we use these skills to "become the music" and connect with our audience on a deeper level. In this workshop, we will work on some basics of musicality: break down Arabic music into its instruments and elements; identify when to travel, isolate, layer, and add arms; modify combinations to suit different musical pieces.

This workshop is the prerequisite to the musicality intensive series happening Tuesdays in November/December. While you MUST take this workshop in order to take the intensive, you DO NOT have to take the intensive to get plenty of information out of this workshop. The intensive will require time spent outside of class doing homework and presenting this homework in class for feedback. 

Cost for the workshop is $40, cost for the intensive is $60.
