Traditional Dance Tuesdays: Ghawazi with Cymbals; 8 weeks: Feb 3, 10, 17, 24, March 3, 10, 17, 24; $100/series (plus Paypal and ticketing fee when paying online), no drop-ins, payment plan allowed.
Available in-person and on Zoom, but you must attend in-person if you want to perform the choreography at Booty Camp.
Learn the technical, historical, and cultural context of Ghawazi dance, then learn an Upper Egyptian Ghawazi choreography to perform at Booty Camp. Series will be part lecture, part movement during the first four weeks, then the series will focus on choreography. Recommended for Level 2 or 3 dancers, or more experienced Level 1 dancers (no brand new dancers, please). Experience with playing finger cymbals is highly recommended.
